The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) issued on Wednesday a permit to Slovenia's KD Pelikan to operate as an open-end investment company in Bulgaria, the company reported. The company, owned by Slovenian KD Group, has a capital of 500,000 levs, divided in 50,000 shares with a par of 10 levs. It is the only investment company in Bulgaria whose initial capital is 100% foreign-owned. KD Pelikan will invest in financial instruments primarily on the local market. Up to 50% of its assets will be invested in securities traded on the Bulgarian bourse. It will offer its shares for public trading once the FSC approves its prospectus. KD Pelikan has named KD Investments as its managing company and HVB Bank Biochim as its depository bank. Currently, KD Group is operating assets worth over 800 mln euro across the region. It also holds a majority stake in life insurer Slovenica, which plans to apply with the FSC in the coming months for a permit to operate here.
