Retail trade up by 0.3% MoM in August’26

According to seasonally-adjusted data from NSI, retail trade turnover (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased by 0.3% MoM in August‘26. On an annual basis, the working day adjusted index was 5.9% higher. The sub-index that registered the biggest move on a monthly basis was ‘Retail sales via mail, order houses or via Internet’ (+2.3% MoM; +28.1% YoY), while ‘Dispensing chemist; retail sales of medical and orthopedic goods’ registered a 2.3% decrease (+0.6% YoY).
