Pobeda AD, one of Bulgaria's biggest pastry and confectionery makers, expects to see its output grow by 20% in November-December as compared to the like period a year ago, said the company's marketing director Daniela Nikolova. Nikolova attributed the rise to the improved quality of the produce. Pobeda produced over 2,000 tonnes of confectionery items in January-September, of which some 10% were exported. The company controls 15% of the domestic biscuits market, up by 2% from last year, said Nikolova, adding that its biscuits are sold in 92% of this country's retail outlets. The confectionery maker has showcased its produce at big international food exhibitions, including the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, the International Food Exposition in Warsaw in May and the SIAL in Paris. Pobeda markets the Bravo croissants in Romania. The brand is also sold in the Tesco supermarkets in the Czech Republic and in the Auchan and СВА stores in Hungary. Reacting to a growing demand on the local market, Pobeda recently invested 400,000 euro in a new production unit for mini-cakes.
