Bulgarian Energy Holding posts a BGN 154m pre-tax profit

Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) posted its first financial statements with a BGN 154m pre-tax profit for 2008. Set up last summer, BEH consolidates the major energy assets in Bulgaria totalling BGN 6.8bn. The most profitable subsidiary was Kozloduy nuclear power plant with a net profit of BGN 81m vs. a BGN 27m target, while the biggest loss was registered by Bulgargas, a natural gas supplier, with a BGN 118m loss. BEH expects its 2009 consolidated revenues to reach BGN 5.9bn, up 5.3% YoY, and the net profit to increase to BGN 471m.
