Bulgaria’s Q3 2022 GDP up by 0.6% QoQ and 3.3% YoY

According to preliminary data, Bulgaria’s seasonally-adjusted Q3 2022 GDP grew 0.6% QoQ and 3.3% YoY to BGN 45bn (current prices), while the seasonally-adjusted GVA added 0.6% QoQ and 3.1% YoY to BGN 39.5bn. Quarterly final consumption increased 4.1% YoY (+1.0% QoQ) and accounted for 76% of the Q3 GDP, while the gross fixed capital formation registered 6.1% YoY decline (-0.7% QoQ) and formed 20.6% of the GDP. Exports jumped 11.1% YoY (+0.5% QoQ) to BGN 31.2bn while imports increased 9.3% YoY (-1.3% QoQ) to BGN 29.7bn. As a result, the trade balance was positive at BGN 1.5bn. The service, industry and agriculture sectors accounted for 62.3%, 28% and 9.7% of GVA, respectively. The top fastest growing economic subsector on an annual basis was Mining and quarrying (+17.7%), while the biggest loser was agriculture (-2.4%).
