Bulgaria’s seasonally adjusted Q1‘24 GDP increased by 1.7% YoY (+0.4% QoQ) and amounted to BGN 40.6bn at current prices, NSI flash estimates revealed. GVA in the quarter was BGN 35.7bn at current prices (+2.2% YoY; +1.0% QoQ). Quarterly gross fixed capital formation (BGN 6.9bn; 17% of GDP) registered an increase of 7.7% YoY (+1.6% QoQ), while final consumption (BGN 34.3bn; 84.4% of GDP) grew by 4.1% YoY (+1.3% QoQ). The trade balance was negative at BGN 0.6bn and accounted for -1.4% of GDP. Exports decreased 1.0% YoY (-1.3% QoQ) to BGN 25bn, while imports were down by 3.8% YoY (-1.9% QoQ) to BGN 25.6bn.
