Bulgaria expects a growth of almost 13% in its tourism industry until 2010, experts have disclosed. That would mean EUR 4.5 B tourism revenues at the end of this decade, according to the chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Tourism, Tsvetan Tonchev. He took part in a national discussion on Bulgaria's strategy for tourism development over the next several years. Outlining the main challenges in the business, Tonchev stressed on the need of more four- and five-star hotels, as well as on the necessary progress in the entertainment industry. The country's deputy economy minister, Evgeniya Koldanova, added that the state and the private sector should enhance their mutual cooperation to overcome tourism holdbacks.
