Bulgaria brought in a temporary ban for wheat and flour exports due to breaking wheat crisis in the country, Agriculture Minister Mehmed Dikme said Thursday. The Cabinet also plans to import 100,000 tons of wheat and allot some extra BGN 10 M for the upcoming autumn sowing. Wheat prices in Bulgaria have been growing for a couple of months, which caused bread prices in many regions of the country to increase as well. Continued drought is said to be the reason for the emergency and also the cause for the critically lowering level of the Danube River.
