Biovet AD Bulgaria buys EUR 22.5mln business from Intervet _x000d_

Veterinary products maker Biovet concluded the deal with Dutch Intervet International B. V. under which the Bulgarian company will acquire the animal breeding food additives business of the Netherland's entity for EUR 22.5 million, Biovet's CEO Angel Zheljazkov told the PARI daily. On August 1, Biovet will enter into possession of long-term non-tangible assets at that value. Biovet will take over the the trade marks Flavomycin, Gainpro, Sacox, Salocin, Stenorol, и Hostazym C/X. The products have been registered in 70 world countries including EU member states, the USA, canada and Australia. At the beginning of last week Biovet acquired part of Actavis' assets connected with active pharmaceutical ingredients and veterinary products. According to Zheljazkov, the recent acquisitions will help Biovet improve its production efficiency and marketing of the ready made goods. Its sales are also expected to experience a certain increase. Biovet reported EBITDA of BGN 9.98 million for 2004, as compared to BGN 6.66 million a year earlier. It is 83.07% owned by the Bulgarian Pharmacetical Company, while another 16.93% are free floated.
