Antenna TV Acquires 100% of NTV -Greek Media Expansion in the Balkans begins.

Greek Antenna TV has acquired 100% of the shares in Nova Television and Multimex and 94% of the shares of Radio Express through its Bulgarian subsidiary. The news first emerged from Reuters from Athens. Later yesterday the State Telecommunications Commission /STC/ informed that permission was given for re-distribution of Multimex's capital and that Antenna Bulgaria EOOD acquires 99% of the shares and Skandkey Holding takes the remaining 1%. The STC has permitted the transfer of the controlling interest in Radio Express to Antenna Bulgaria. An application for the allocation of the capital was submitted on August 1st. The STC specifies that the changes ahve to be completed within 3 months. The deal was finalised on August 4th. The Greek millionaire Minos Kyriakou, father of Antenna's current managing director, bought out 70% of the stake in Nova TV as early as last autumn. The Greek investment in the three Bulgarian media amounts to USD 3.7 million. Nova Television, established in 1995, was the first private television network in Bulgaria, broadcasting 24 hours a day mainly to Sofia region. Its audience share is second only to the state-owned channel with its average daily reach last year around 11,4% nationwide and 38,7% in the Sofia region. Multimex, licensed to transmit TV signals to the Sofia region, transmits Nova TV's programming exclusively. Radio Express is a radio station that broadcasts to 12 major Bulgarian cities.
