Overnight stays decreased 59.2% YoY in Nov’20

Overnight stays in Bulgarian hotels were 311.6k in Nov’20, which represents a 59.2% YoY shrink. The largest drop was registered in 4&5-star hotels (-70.1 % YoY). The number of tourists was down 66.5% YoY and stood at 138.7k. The average occupancy rate of the hotels declined by 12.5 p.p. YoY to 11.4%, with highest occupancy rate for 3-star hotels at 11.9%, 4&5-star hotels and 1&2-star hotels were operating at 11.3% and 11.2%, respectively. Monthly revenue fell by 62.5% YoY to BGN 16m, due to 59.5% YoY drop in revenue from Bulgarian tourists, while revenue from foreign visitors tumbled 66.9% YoY.
